Morenci Turquoise was once mined in Arizona. The mine is now depleted and the Morenci Turquoise is highly sought after. A signature characteristic of Morenci is its iron pyrite matrix. When hand cabbed and polished, the iron pyrite, or fools gold, often looks like silver inclusions in the turquoise.
